Unnecessary, but nice to have November 28, 2005 Eric Ettensohn (Florida) 22 out of 24 found this review helpful
The dock is probably the most useless iPod accessory I've seen. All it does is keep your iPod off whatever its sitting on. Still, its cool to have. The best thing the dock has done for me is help to organize all my wires and keep my iPod off of my nightstand. Its pretty cool to go from listening to your iPod with headphones, snap the iPod into the dock, and have music playing right away. I managed to get it for $12, and that's about what its worth. The dock is DEFINITLY not worth $30 or $40. I'm so serious about that I'll say it again. The dock is DEFINITLY not worth $30 or $40. Period. The dock is cool to have if you can find it cheap, but not really necessary. I enjoy having it, but only because I got a deal for it.
Here is the skinny November 25, 2005 Freezing in Boston (Boston, MA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It works and does excatly what it is supposed to do. It comes with two plastic cases (one for 20 and 60G) that fit over a heavy base. For me the best part of this device was the heavy base. This means when my iPod is not in it...it still stays where I put it.
looks cool but lacks value October 31, 2005 Supertensai (CA USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
iPod looks really cool on a dock. Also, the line-out via the dock delivers much better sound quality if you are hooking up your iPod to a speaker. However, this little box is overpriced. I know a friend who made a dock from scratch for less than $10.
Does what it is supposed to do - though a little overpriced August 25, 2005 A. Cox (New York, NY United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have on the of these plugged into my Hi-Fi and plugged into the mains. When I come home I put the IPod in the Dock it starts re-charging AND is ready to play through the Hi-Fi - with no fiddling with cables. Guess I'm just lazy that way! I can use my IPod with a IR remote control, with the remote adaptor plugged into the IPod's remote socket in the top. Why have I made this point? because if you plug into a Hi-Fi using the headphone sockets, remote is not available! However, because the IPod connects to the Hi-Fi via the Dock via the bottom connector, the volume cannot be controlled by the IPod but is controlled by the Hi-Fi. Though I suppose I could program a Universal remote! (Though my Hi-Fi using Radio not IR waves) However, I think the price is too much, and I would have expected a cable with it for this price. I would have given it 4 stars if not for the inappropriate (in my opinion) 1 stars. Overall very happy with it and I find it extremely convenient.
