Am satisfied with product. Only problem is that the detachable belt clip broke. I'm not sure if it was a defect or my fault. In any case the company is sending me a free replacement clip.
AMAZON offered the best overall price (taking no tax and free shipping into account).

Well, the skin it's self fits my 60GB iPod Photo with some maneuvering but will likely never come off without some plastic surgery! I like how it appears to be durable. You cannot use the wheel while the cover is on, you have to flip the thick plastic cover down in order to use the wheel. It's not secured very well and I constaltly find it loose in my backpack off of the skin. The screen cover is the same thick hard plastic so be sure to not get anything under it or there will be some major scratches on your screen. Cannot use the docking station with the skin on and there isn't a way to fold the bottom of the skin away so that I can. Overall I like the skin it's self but the plastic cover for the wheel is annoying and the one for the screen seems cheap and there is no protection from the plastic it's self scratching your screen.

Simply stated, this "rubberized" case provides near 100% protection from scratches and perhaps even abusive treatment. It has excellent screen and click-wheel protection. It may not be sleek, but it is relatively "rugged" and is very well designed.

I looked at a lot of iPod case reviews before purchasing this product. I am a new iPod owner and was surprised by the attention paid by iPod users to aesthetics. While many owners consider the iPod a work of art that should be displayed like a museum piece, most were concerned primarily with scratching the unit. If you are among the former, be advised that this case will obscure your electronic Picasso. The "clear" version of this case seems to maintain the iPod aesthetic better than the colored cases. I chose the red case.

In any event, this case will protect your unit from scratches very well. According to many reviews I read, some cases will actually scratch the unit they are meant to protect! This case will not do that. Here's why.

This case is "rubberized" and "ruggedized." I guess that means that it is not made from natural rubber, but let's just say that we non-chemists call this "rubber." (The manufacturer calls it "shock-absorbing, tear-resistant KRATON plastic.") And it is, in fact, "ruggedized" in that it will clearly protect the unit better than thinner "skins." It is a single piece of rubber and inserting the iPod was a breeze.

The screen and click-wheel protectors are excellent. A real highlight of this case. These clear plastic parts are easily removable. I can't imagine why anyone would remove the screen protector. It is invisible. Since the wheel protector protects the wheel from your fingers, too, I could see removing that during general use. I'm going to leave mine on since it easily swings out of the way to allow access to the controls.

With the protectors in place, this case offers almost 100% protection. There are cut-outs on the top and bottom. The top cut-out allows ample access to the headphone jack and hold button. (I have read that "easy" and "minor" trimming is necessary to accommodate an iTrip.) My Belkin car charger fits easily into the bottom cut-out. The cut-outs for the screen and wheel are perfect.

A plastic insert goes inside the case and behind the iPod unit. It is almost the size of the iPod unit itself. It has a number of purposes. It adds protection for the back side of the unit and rigidity for anchoring the belt clip "nub". Its other purpose is as a spacer. When the case is used with the 20g iPod (which I have) little "feet" hold the 20g unit in place. Inserted the other way, the spacer accommodates the thicker 40g model. Sure, it adds thickness to the unit -- especially the 20g -- but all cases do to some degree. The design works well.

The belt clip is optional. You can remove the nub and have a flat back. I left the nub in for now and it's not unreasonably obtrusive. The belt clip seems strudy enough, "snaps" into place and has a release button. It can be used with confidence.

Please be advised, if you're looking for a case that will protect your iPod from every conceivable hazard, your only real option is an aluminum "hard case." (To illustrate... I was glad my Tungsten PDA was in a metal case when I closed my car door on it! The case got dented, but the PDA survived. I do not believe that any rubber case can protect an iPod being crushed in a car door!)

Having said that, if you're looking for excellent protection for your iPod under "normal", even abusive conditions (e.g. the nonchalant toss into a backpack or glove-box, leaving it on the car seat under a gym bag, maybe even dropping it from desk height) then this case will do the trick.

UPDATE: After a couple of weeks commuting in NYC with my iPod and this case I stand by the above review. I must add that because the case is rubberized, it doesn't "slip" in and out of one's pocket with ease. I consider that a bonus. It won't fall out of my pocket. It won't slide off my lap when I doze on the train. I heard on WNYC-FM today that reported thefts on the subway are up this month. It's being attributed to iPod thefts. I can tell you this, if someone is trying to get this iPod with this case out of my pocket, I'll just stand there and watch them struggle with it until the cops arrive!

Also, I superglued a meticulously cut piece of black velcro ("hook" side) onto/into the slightly recessed back of the case. (It added no size to the package.) I slapped some black velcro on my black dashboard. I'm ready to roll with my cassette adapter and my iPod right in front of me. (DO NOT try to dial up a selection while driving, please! Trust me! It ain't the smart thing to do.)
