No Luck November 11, 2008 KC (San Francisco, CA) I ordered the TuneJuice 2 for my iPod Touch. The product literature says that in addition to many other devices it supports the iPod Touch. Instead of the TuneJuice 2 they sent me the TuneJuice (1 I guess)its literature does not include the iPod Touch as one of the devices that it supports. It supports many other devices and iPods but not the Touch. I filled out the return form and pointed out their error for sending me the wrong equipment. The return procedures are automated and they said that they would send me the correct device. Once again I received the same wrong device. I called customer support and they argued with me that the equipment I received supported iPods. They didn't understand the concept that all iPods are not the same and said that they would not refund the money. It wasn't until they finally understood that what I ordered is not what I received. They said that since systems were automated that I probably wouldn't receive the right piece of equipment so they credited my account. It was a real pain in the buttocks dealing with customer service. So I never received this device.
Doesn't work...nuff said October 13, 2008 Product Auditor I just about threw this thing away until I read other people's reviews - so apparently it was never meant to chearge an Ipod, it only slows the rate of drainage??? What a piece of junk... maybe I will throw it away after all........
Not worth it October 6, 2008 Candice Underhill (Danville, IL USA) I bought this right before a long flight. It only slows down the drain on your ipod rather than substituting for the ipod battery. You also should check to make sure that the batteries have good contact as they shift in the case and then they do not work. You must hold the ipod for the entire time since it connects on the bottom and does not allow you to use a "stand". It really was not worth it.
Not compatible with Touch 2G or IPhone 3G September 18, 2008 C. Carroll (Orleans, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can confirm that this product is definitely not compataible with the Ipod Touch 2g (wrong charging voltage causes error message), and I've also heard it won't work with the Iphone 3G.
Just so that you know what this is... August 15, 2008 Sapan Bhatia (Princeton, NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product makes an electrical connection between 4 AAA cells and the input to your iPod. This should strike many as strage, because the input to your iPod is typically less than 1.5 x 4 = 6v. It's more like 4.2 or 5 volts. I bought mine on NewEgg and realized that there's a non-refundable disclaimer somewhere, so I can't send it back, or I would. Among the side effects -- it adds a low but distinct hissing sound to the playback. It's not a huge deal because of how low it is. The other problem is more worrying -- sometimes your song gets garbled like it would if your CD or LP record would get stuck on the player. This has *NEVER* happened to me on an iPod, so it was horrifying when it did. It came back to normal the moment I unplugged the battery backup. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's enough for me to trash this piece. My iPod is not worth the experiment...
