1 out of 5 stars Oh, the good times...   September 16, 2008

My old Kensington radio transmitter (a white one) has almost two years of use, so it is getting worn out, like, the wire has a bad contact, it's dirty, so, I thought: let's buy the new one. Even with some bad reviews, I decided to give it a chance, because if the company could make a product that good as it was the case of the previous transmitter, things could not go that bad, right?
Then, after I got it, I tried to use this product in: big cities, roads in the middle of the nowhere, different stations, different countries... all with the same result: complete and utter failure. It's like if the signal that it emits was in 10% of what the old white transmitter used to produce.
Epic failure.
I read somewhere that the US regulations forced them to do that, to lower the potency of the signal... if that's the case, they should stop making these things. It's better than trying to sell something that doesn't work.
Now I'm thinking of how to fix the old transmitter...

1 out of 5 stars Threw it out the window!   July 22, 2008

After less than 10 minutes of having this device that Kensington mailed me for free to replace an older worn down model, this thing found itself on the highway complete with the instructions so hopefully some highway worker has an iPod...but with how crappy this thing picks up signals he won't get much use out of it either!

5 out of 5 stars Form your own opinion!!   July 19, 2008

For a while, I was the proud owner of a Kensington 33199 Digital FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for iPod (Black), yet, after much wear & tear, the wires became loose and it was time to get a new one. During my search, I stumbled upon the "Kensington LiquidFM(tm) Deluxe for iPod FM Transmitter K33424US", noticing that it was the most recent version of the one I had owned for about a year. Since I was pleased with my previous purchase, the obvious choice was to invest in this one. The choice became not-so-obvious, however, when I read these terrible reviews. Now I don't mean to call the other reviewers liars, but mine recently came in the mail, and I have yet to experience any of the nightmares some of these other customers have claimed to have experienced. So what is my advice? Form your own opinion! But keep in mind that if you live in a large city where there are apt to be hundreds of pirate radio stations, maybe you should put your money towards a Monster Cable iCarPlay iPod Cassette Adapter (AI CAS-ADPT) instead.

1 out of 5 stars Disapointing performance   April 12, 2008

I have the older model (Digital FM Transmitter) and was quite satisfied with it. I got this one for our other car (my wife now has an iPod which she listens to in her car). The difference in the performance between the two is huge! This newer model picks up RFI everywhere! If you go in or even near a city, forget it, it is simply unusable. And the automatic clear station seek doesn't work at all. At times it will even select a frequency that actually broadcasts in our area! Don't waste you money. I'm throwing mine away and installing an aux input cable in my car.
