iPod Replacement Battery August 9, 2008 T. Olsen I gave this 3 stars because I haven't been able to try it on an iPod that isn't completely broken. This was my first attempt at fixing my iPod 30GB that died after one year of use. The instructions are good but a video I found on the internet was better. My complaint is that the green non-abrasive tool they provided broke before I could get the iPod case open all the way. Plus the package included a philip's screwdriver to unlatch the battery when a flat-head screwdriver would make more sense. Basically, the tools provided are not adequate but I have no comment on the battery as I believe my hard-drive on the iPod was the problem, not the battery.
Not a good product January 8, 2008 Paul Chapman I had heard this was easy to do, but it's anything but. The tools, especially the green plastic thing, are not well made. I tried for about half an hour, but never could get into the iPod. I hope I can get my money back. I consider myself lucky that following their 'simple instructions', I didn't break the iPod.
Very affordable and easy enough to install... December 22, 2007 R. Watson Took some minor thinking to figure out how to fit the battery with its wires in (I pretty much right away lost the instructions) but I installed it and sent the ipod to its charging dock in about 15 minutes. I heard years ago that ipod batteries were hundreds of dollars and subsequently just not worth it, so I'm glad that there are people out there who are making very affordable batteries for my precious, precious ipod.
