Horrible sound quality January 20, 2008 K. McGuire I got this for Christmas. It's pretty cool-looking, but the sound quality sucks. The volume wasn't good, it would get distorted if you turned it too high. I was okay with that, but then I began to notice that even when I played music at very low volumes, I could hear this awful crackling distortion behind the music. It drove me insane. I returned it (luckily my dad had kept the receipt) and ordered an Athena iVoice which was only $10 more and has an amazing sound quality.
Looks Great! Sounds Great! Loads of Features! September 28, 2007 A. Wilson (Nashville, TN) I bought this for my office based on reviews from iLounge. I love it! Not only does it look cool, it's very compact and streamlined with a nice sound. The remote does stuff that you wouldn't expect like scrolling through albums, playlists, repeat, shuffle, plus the standard volume and play/pause and previous/next. It folds flat for travel or storage and have a very small footprint. The sound has a nice range and sounds bigger than it is. I have a Bose SoundDock at home and although this product isn't as robust in sound quality, it has way more features for a fraction of the cost. If I didn't already have a Bose SoundDock at home, I would have been satisfied with the iStation7 at home and at the office.
Good idea, poor quality September 25, 2007 P. Blanchard (LA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this to listen to in an office setting, and was dissatisfied after an hour of use. I tested the iStation7 at every volume level, and literally every 5 minutes the iStation7 would stop playing; the system was still on, and the iPod continued to play, there was just no sound. I would have to manually pause the iPod and then press play for the the sound to resume. The look of it is nice, and the remote control helps, but constantly having to pause and replay the iPod for the system to work for five minutes is completely unacceptable.
Horrible Speakers July 11, 2007 B. Henning 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these and the sound quality was horrible. The speakers made a crackling noise and had a bunch of static. I replaced that one with a second one and still had the same problems. To make it worse, the remote on the second one hardly worked. I ended up returning that one too.
Good speakers July 3, 2007 Geoff Larcom Nice and compact. Well designed for portability. Fills up a room well however is not very loud at its highest volume. Distortion lowers the speakers ability to allow high volumes however still quite good. Very good little speaker and ever charge the ipod. Not to mention, has a remote, and runs on ac chord or battery powered. RECOMENDED
