Unlike the other review I read here, I'm relatively satisfied with this case.
I bought it after my iPod Mini fell several time and got nasty scratches on both its sides... I was starting to be afraid of an internal damage.
The case itself is hard and very protective. Unfortunately it did fell from my hands a few times, and because of its firmness no harm was done.
I see no problem of using the scrollwheel, as suggested here by CeeCeeSun's review. I'm using it effortlessly for all the basic needs.
Two minor cons, however:
(*) The screen shield, although protective. is highly-scratchable. Within a week of the case in my pocket, it got scratched so bad that I cannot see the screen clearly without the backlight on.
This is pretty bad, and I'm looking for some cleaning solution right now.
(*) As said before, the belt clip's pivot head gets freed easily, and the belt clip falls from time to time. Actually, the belt clip itself is rather big and clumsy and I rarely use it.
But overall, a nice product that does what it's there for.

but the touch wheel is harder to use.
I bought this case about a month ago and immediately put my baby into it. Since that point time I had a harder time turning it off/pausing, adjusting the volume, using the back and forth touch points, and setting a stop point in a audiobook. This is the result of the mini being recessed into the case.
I took my mini out of the case today and had immediate ease of use with the touch wheel again. The case will protect your mini without a doubt - but you lose the functionality that the wheel is so popular for.
Also, make sure you tighten down the pivot head with a screwdriver since I nearly almost lost my mini because it came apart from the belt clip.
I'll only use when absolutely necessary now.
