| Customer Reviews: 1st Shipment Bad March 16, 2006 Calvin Webster (Newport, NC USA) My first shipment of 2 Rambus modules had one bad one. I was surprised to find that one of the Kingston modules would not initialize at all.
Amazon.com's RMA web pages do not make any allowance for returning less then the quantity you purchased. I only wanted to return the one bad moduule. After several email messages back and forth to Amazon customer service, I finally got an RMA.
This is the first time I've seen a bad Kingston memory board. They usually have very good quality control. After I could not find any Rambus memory on their web site I called Kingston. They informed me that Rambus technology is obsolete and they no longer support it. I wonder how they handle their "Lifetime Warranties" on them?
Amazon needs to update their return tools on the web site to make it easier to return portions of an order. Whether they like it or not, returns are always going to be part of any retail enterprise, whether it's brick-and-mortar or on-line. Repeat customers who are dissatisfied with return policies will shop somewhere else. I don't return things often, but if I have similar trouble on my next one, I'll stop shopping Amazon.com.
There are few things more disheartening than to get something brand-new, only to find that it doesn't work out of the box.
Disappointed,
Cal Webster Sr.
price has always been too high January 15, 2006 William Abrams (Wilton, CT USA) The price of this RAM has always been high while most RAM goes down in price. Because you have to buy in pairs the cost is not worth it. For the price of a pair of this product, you could be half the way towards buying a new computer with much more memory.
Why the price increase October 24, 2001 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great addition to any system, yet I wonder why the price of this memory stick gone up so much in the last 30 days?
