What a steal. January 20, 2008 amazonfan Very good reviews online for this unit. And the price was extremely reasonable given the cost of the competition. It looks good sitting above the plasma tv. One small gripe---the blue light makes it hard to see the numbers in the display. But then again, you don't really need to look at the display since this thing is simply a surge protector. But it is a very handsome looking one.
Looks great, lots of options December 26, 2007 Sean P. Logue (Research Triangle Park, NC USA) This looks great, and has a very heavy-duty feel to it. Each outlet bank can be set to switch on and off (or not) based on the front switch or a remote 12 volt trigger. It comes with a power cable which, when plugged into a switched outlet, will switch the other outlets on and off. So, if you plug this into the switched outlet on your receiver, for example, you can make the outlets of your choice turn off and on with the receiver. They can also be set to turn on after a delay, to allow the amp (for example) to power up before turning on the source device. This is a pretty powerful capability. It has a couple of outlets that are for high current devices, like power amps, which is nice to see. I have a high-end receiver plugged into one of them (160 Watts x 7 channels) with no issues. It isn't perfect, however. The front panel looks like brushed aluminum, but is really just painted plastic, so know that going in. Also, after about a year some of the LCD segments on mine no longer light, probably due to a bad solder joint on the display. This could just be a problem with my unit, but it does make me a bit concerned about their quality control and makes me a bit hesitant to buy a second one. The display is hard to read from below, too, so you'll want to put this on a lower shelf. Overall, a good unit for the price, and looks great too.
Nice Power Console October 30, 2007 J. Allen (Nashville, TN) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does its job, I guess. I'll find out for sure if the other electronics in my house ever get surged. It is very nice looking and goes well with my other AV equipment in my home theater. One small complaint is that the lcd display is pretty cheap and some of the numbers are not very visible at all. It reminds me of what a calculator looks like when you apply pressure to its screen and the numbers become illegible. This sorta pissed me off, so I exchange it through Amazon thinking that I may have just gotten a bad unit. When I got the brand new one it had the same issue so I concluded that they must all be this way. All in all, its not a huge deal to me because the rest of the unit looks good and seems solidly built. You can't really read the display anyway if you are more than a couple of feet from the unit.
Good as it gets September 16, 2007 Jordan Xaviers (Jamaica, W.I.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Belkin PureAV PF60 is an excellent example of a state of the art surge protector with line noise supressor. It actually does the job it claims at a fraction of the cost of Monsters equivalent HT series. Folks if you are very conciencious about your equipment, buy one - it works. Your video will be clearer the audio will be cleaner. But just to warn all readers, it does not work miracles ! Realistically, it cleans up your line noise and has a very high surge/spike supression. It also looks really cool. After purchasing this unit, I went out and bought another model for my computer. It is well worth the price and it had free shipping too! There is no better option in this price range, trust me.
Does what it should August 6, 2007 Bakersville123 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Been using this product for a month and have seen it's benefits already. During the hot months of July and August it's inevitable where I live to go without power fluctuations as people crank their AC. I had one a couple days ago as the whole house lost power for a few seconds, then it came it back and off again. This product immediately turned the power off at the first sign of an issue.
